York Professionals Exhibition Stand

I recently collaborated with the good folks at United By Design to create an exhibition stand and leaflets for York Professionals VentureFest 2010 stand. The process involved creating different business characters such as IT Support, PR and Legal in Adobe Illustrator. The design was finished in Indesign by UBD Studio.

The exhibition stand and leaflets was very well received and helped York Professionals have a successful day at VentureFest event.

A belated Happy New Year from Jevs Illustration! I am currently working on a slight website redesign with new content to be added shortly.

Christmas Time!

Jevs Illustration has been very busy working on a few Christmas related projects this festive season. This includes a printed Christmas Card and animated web banner for Applied Web Analytics. Also, after the success of the welcome card created for YSJ University in August, I have been asked by the Vice Chancellor to create this years animated ecard. My brief was to create a cute and fun Christmas scene that YSJ can send out to all their important contacts.

The card has been a success and YSJ are very happy with animation. Below you can see an image from the YSJ ecard and the printed AWA card.

YSJ University

I have been commissioned by York St John University to produce a welcome greetings card for new students starting this academic year. I had to illustrate the front of the card, design a map of York and include an illustrated bookmark. The card was then given to all first year students to welcome them to YSJ University.

Yorkshire Humberside Police

I've been working with friend and colleague Dhyan Design (http://www.dhyaandesign.com/blog/) to produce several Flash based games for the Yorkshire Humberside Police. I have also worked with Lazenbybrown (http://lazenbybrown.com)/ and Image Data Group (http://www.imagedatagroup.co.uk/) to produce several leaflets to accompany the games. The security campaign has been broadcast on both the TV and radio.

More leaflets and games are in the pipeline.

Small Planet

I created this illustration in Photoshop using my new Wacom Intuos 4 drawing tablet. The tablet is great fun to use and makes drawing and painting feel much more natural than any other tablet. I'm looking forward to using it more!

Freelance Illustration

I've been crazy busy these past few months, and had little time to post stuff on the blog.

First of all, I have taken the plunge into freelancing full-time which is pretty exciting. I have worked on some fun projects already and have also just launched my illustration website, Jevs Illustration.

I have also moved into new office space in the city centre of York and have met some really lovely creative people.

Happy Valentines Day!

I painted this card for my girlfriend for valentines day. Unfortunately my G5's hard drive just died, so I lost all the files aside from this Jpg. Thankfully I backed up most of my stuff so I haven't lost too much stuff. Looks like it's time to buy a new Mac.

Swim Wear Juniors

This is a poster created for a local band playing in York on the 21st December. The illustration features the band playing on the beach whilst a crazy monster accidentally destroys the local community.

Kids Ice Skating

Kids Ice Skating on a frozen lake in a forest. Once again I created the artwork in illustrator followed by editing the image in Photoshop.

Fluffy Cat

This is a painting of a fluffy cat called Lucius and his friend Mr Chicken. Both have been named by my lovely girlfriend. The illustration has been painted using the AirBrush tools in Photoshop.

Illustration Of Me

Here is an illustration of me working on my Apple Mac G5. The poor thing is running a bit slow these days but I hope it survives a bit longer before I can afford to buy a new Mac.

The illustration has been created in Illustrator CS3 using the pen tools and PathFinder.

I am a graphic designer with a passion for illustration and character design. I studied Multi-Media Technology and obtained a distinction in 3D animation. I have worked as a junior designer at Kariba Creative Media and now freelance in the picturesque city of York, UK.

I am going to use this blog to post new pieces of illustration work as I create my portfolio.
